SUMMARY:February Work Project-Vauxhall Island Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Join JROC\, Richmond Fire\, Keep Virginia Cozy\, and the JRPS for a cleanup of Vauxhall Island. We will be removing litter and larger items such as ancient bike frames\, signs\, and other garbage that has accumulated on the island and under bridges. Volunteers can ride back and forth to the island with RFD or paddle their own craft if desired. Email hello@jroc.net to sign up. \nWhat to wear/ bring: JRPS will provide personal flotation devices and will have a limited number of waders for people to use. Keep Virginia Cozy will provide garbage bags\, grabbers\, and gloves. Volunteers should dress in sun-protective clothing appropriate for the weather and for being in the river\, wear closed-toe shoes\, and bring a water bottle and a snack. Volunteers can bring their own boat to paddle to/ from the island if desired (Canoes or rafts are best for being able to carry garbage).
