Wetlands Boardwalk Rebuild Part 1

Wetlands Boardwalk Rebuild Part 1

posted on May 15, 2021

Today JROC volunteers and park staff began a refurbishment of about 100 feet of boardwalk in The Wetlands area adjacent to Pony Pasture. Found on the old timbers was a plaque dedicated to the original builder of the boardwalk Eagle Scout Bryce Praught. If any one knows Mr. Praught, please let him know that his work served dutifully for we believe 20 years.

Plaque dedicated to Eagle Scout Bryce Praught.

The plaque has been preserved and will be placed back on the new timbers once they are in place. Thank you to all JROC members and volunteers who showed up today. We were able to completely remove the old wood and stage the new wood. There will be a followup work project before the end of the month to finish the job. Until then, the boardwalk will remain closed.

The area marked in red is the section of trail closed until the project is complete.
