JROC volunteers heeded the call to assist in the installation of 12 benches and worked alongside park staff and board members of Friends of James River Park to complete Phase 1 of the outdoor classroom project on Saturday, March 19th, The next phase will be completed by the James River Park System Operations team and involve adding a teaching kiosk and improving the nearby water access point so that students can safely gather samples and make observations.
